Get Shrek’d is a 30-minute radio show dedicated to the world of Shrek – covering fun facts about the movies and their fandom, combined with tracks from the films and a series of humorous fake commercials for “Shrek products.”
I was responsible for researching and recording the Shrek facts, co-hosting part of the moderation, selecting the music, and handling the final mixing and mastering. The show was produced by a 3-person team, with additional voice talent brought in for the commercials and later broadcast on the student radio.
Role: Research & fact narration, co-moderation, song selection, mixing & mastering within a team of 3
Tech: Zoom H6 recorder, ProTools
Production time: ~1 week
Platform: Soundcloud and Campusradio 94.4
Language: German
Facts: I researched and voiced fun Shrek trivia throughout the show.
Moderation: Shared presentation duties with the team.
Music: Selected songs from the Shrek films to play between segments.
Commercials: Included fake advertisements for parody products, recorded with guest voices.
Final Mix: Complete editing, EQ, and mastering handled in ProTools.
Timing: Strict 30-minute length required precise pacing and editing.
Audio consistency: Commercials were recorded on different microphones, requiring heavy EQ work to balance the overall sound.
Producing Get Shrek’d taught me how to balance entertainment, structure, and technical precision in audio projects. I gained hands-on experience with mixing voices from multiple sources, integrating music and speech, and mastering a program for broadcast standards.
